Drawing refers to a picture or diagram made with a pencil, pen, or crayon rather than paint, a series of charcoal drawings on white paper. It also refers to the art or skill or making such pictures or diagrams. Emphasis is placed on the use of pen and pencil rather than the use of colors. It is basically a visual art which makes use of drawing instruments to make a two-dimensional diagram/figure/ etc. Drawings can be realistic, e.g. life-like resemblance in traditional portraits, architectural drawing or sketches, and highly stylized (e.g. cartoons, caricatures), or abstract.
The first step towards learning to draw is to understand one's ability and talent, once the talent and ability is recognized only then one can use it to its fullest extent. The second step is of commitment. The first two steps get one mentally prepared. The third step is of getting ready physically. One should develop more observational skills, take mental pictures of his surroundings and then simply try to draw them first in abstract form and then later on in their actual real state.
Drawing term and research papers usually involve the exploratory process, with emphasis on observation and problem solving. Painting on the other hand is often perceived as a means of finishing an artwork once a drawing has been completed. Drawing requires an understanding of using colors and one soon develops a relationship with drawing. Drawing term and research papers tend to focus upon past artists and their works. |
